The project is a modern weekend retreat located in Black Mountain NC.  The 1-acre project site is a heavily wooded, sloping ridge parcel that has views of near and distant mountain ranges.  The project is 3000USF consisting of 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and was inspired by modern architecture with a nod to Japanese design. The planning goals were to create a casual retreat for the owner and friends that embraced the views of the ridge line, and treetops while expanding the square footage by merging interior space with the exterior via multiple decks.
